Amid an air of fiscal uncertainty, the City of Westlake held its first budget workshop Tuesday, June 30, aimed at setting a spending plan for the 2027 fiscal year.
A proposed amendment to Florida’s constitution would increase the state’s homestead exception to $250,000 over two years, severely impacting small municipalities such as Westlake without a broad commercial tax base.
