Teen on e-scooter recovering from hit-and-run with e-dirtbike near Lion Country Safari

WELLINGTON, Fla. (CBS12) — A Wellington teenager is recovering at home with a broken right foot and broken toes after he says he was the victim of a hit-and-run collision Tuesday, July 14, at about 5:25 p.m.

Chad Filer, 17, says he had just gotten off work at Lion Country Safari where he works as an amusement park attendant, and he was riding home on his e-scooter when he was hit by a teen on an e-dirtbike on Lion Country Safari Boulevard.

“I’m just riding my scooter home. A dirt bike, there was dirt bikes. There was three of them. One of them was coming my way. So, two of them were facing forward, one of them was coming my way. So when he seen me, he popped the wheelie trying to do the swerve trick, whatever. So he popped a wheelie, came close to me, tried to swerve me, but he ended up hitting me instead, so it was a head-on collision,” Filer said…
