A heat advisory is in effect across South Florida today, with possible “feels-like” temperatures of over 100 degrees forecast for parts of the region.
The advisory, which covers eastern parts of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties, will last from 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. on July 29, according to the National Weather Service office in Miami. Maximum afternoon temperatures in South Florida will reach the low to mid 90s, with a predicted feels-like temperature of 109 degrees in Miami, 107 degrees in Fort Lauderdale and 112 degrees in West Palm Beach.
Isolated showers and storms are expected across the area this afternoon, according to the NWS, and could “mitigate some heat impacts.” Still, major heat risk will remain “a concern.”…
