Elementary near West Palm gets $52M reno, preps for more students

Students will flood back into West Riviera Elementary School on Aug. 10, when the 2026-27 school year kicks off in the Palm Beach County School District.

But there is already a buzz in the school. Painters — of both the human and 3D imaging types — are putting the final touches on the walls. What will be a soundproof television studio is being completed. There are new smart boards, new desks and chairs and shaded play areas.

The building’s new colors — soft, pastel gray, cream, green and white — stand out in a part of Riviera Beach dotted with older, modest homes that visually illustrate the hard times many in the city have faced over the years.
