WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — South Florida will face a combination of dangerous heat and slow-moving thunderstorms today, with the greatest concern for localized flooding across the east coast metro.
Temperatures will climb into the low 90s this afternoon and combined with high humidity, it will feel between 105 and 110 degrees across much of South Florida. Anyone spending extended time outdoors should stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and watch for signs of heat-related illness.
As the afternoon progresses, scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will develop, with the greatest coverage expected around the Lake Okeechobee region and along the east coast metro.
