WELLINGTON, Fla. (CBS12) — An elderly woman is accused of stealing nearly $2,000 from a Macy’s Department Store in Wellington, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
PBSO says that on Tuesday, a retail theft call was made to the Macy’s Department Store at the Mall at Wellington Green. When deputies arrived, they were told about an elderly woman — later identified to be Amal Youssef, 71, who was being monitored on CCTV by loss prevention for over three hours as she concealed merchandise throughout the store.
The affidavit alleges that Youssef stole 28 items, including handbags, clothes, jewelry, and shoes. She also placed smaller items in her handbag, and Macy’s shopping bag. She then passed all points of sale without attempting to pay and exited the store towards the parking lot…
