BAD BEACH: Palm Beach County Says There’s A Bacteria Problem

The Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County (DOH-Palm Beach) says the advisory covers the Town of Palm Beach Municipal Beach, north of Worth Avenue in the 300 block of South Ocean Boulevard. Samples collected Monday, August 17, 2026, showed Enterococcus bacteria levels exceeding the state’s recreational water quality standards.

DOH-Palm Beach is warning people to stay out of the water at that location, citing an increased risk of illness for swimmers. The advisory came out of the agency’s routine water quality monitoring program and will remain in effect until follow-up testing shows bacteria levels back within accepted health limits.
