LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Lake Worth Beach commissioners voted 3-1 Tuesday night to approve a revised three-year contract with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, extending the agency’s policing services through 2029 after a lengthy debate over immigration enforcement.
Commissioner Christopher McVoy cast the lone no vote. Commissioner Sarah Malega was absent.
The agreement replaces the city’s current contract, which expires Sept. 30. An earlier proposal called for a 10-year agreement with an automatic renewal provision.
