Teen Fishing Trip Turns Into a Violent Arrest After Deputies Ran Their Names

A group of teenagers fishing from a private dock in Palm Beach Shores, Florida, seemed headed for nothing more serious than a warning when a deputy stopped them, explained where they could legally fish, and told them they could leave once dispatch finished checking their names.

According to bodycam footage reviewed by Midwest Safety, the encounter changed abruptly when one of those names came back with an active warrant, turning what had been a calm trespassing complaint into a physical struggle that left a deputy bleeding from the head and one of the teens under arrest.

The contrast between the first several minutes and the ending is what makes the footage unusual, because the deputy had spent most of the stop talking casually with the teenagers about fishing, local docks and even how to tie a hook before learning that one of them was wanted.
