A Brightline train collision with a vehicle in Boca Raton leaves one person hospitalized and another fleeing the scene, causing significant delays in the area, police said.
BOCA RATON, Fla. — A serious collision involving a Brightline train and a vehicle in Boca Raton resulted in one person being hospitalized and another fleeing the scene. The incident, which occurred near Camino Real and Dixie Highway, was reported by CBS12 and further detailed by WPTV.
The Boca Raton Police Department stated that the crash happened around 7:00 p.m. Saturday night as the northbound Brightline train approached the intersection.
The collision site is approximately a mile south of the Boca Raton train station.
According to the police report, one occupant of the vehicle involved in the crash was taken to the hospital as a trauma patient, while the other individual involved reportedly left the scene on foot. The condition of the hospitalized individual has not been disclosed.
