A water main break has led to a boil water notice for Blue Cypress Lane and Blue Cypress Court residents. Field services crews are informing residents with signs and yellow door hangers. The notice will stay in effect until two days of satisfactory water testing results. A green door hanger will indicate when the water is safe.

During the notice, residents should not drink tap water until it’s confirmed safe. They should use bottled water or boiled tap water. If boiling, water should be boiled for one minute to kill any harmful bacteria. If there’s no power, mixing unscented bleach with water and waiting for 30 minutes is an alternative.

Ice made before the notice is safe, but ice made after the notice should be thrown away. Ice machines should be cleaned with a bleach solution before use. Water vending machines, drinking fountains, misters, ice-making units, and soda machines should be turned off.

During the notice, tap water should not be used for handwashing. Bottled water or boiled and cooled tap water should be used instead. Hands should be sanitized after washing. Single-use gloves can be used for extra protection.
