North Palm Beach has given initial approval to a master plan for redeveloping the old Twin City Mall site into Village Place, a mixed-use complex of restaurants, retail, and residences.
The council offered developer Cypress Realty permission to build up to 14 stories in the site’s center and seven along U.S. 1, fewer than the developer’s original nine-story proposal.
In return, Cypress must agree to include enough “public benefit” — which might include workforce housing, sustainable building certifications and public art — before the Village Council votes on the plan a second and final time. That vote could happen in September, Village Manager Chuck Huff said.
