Boca Town Center Mall evacuated over phone threat involving bombs and guns

Boca Raton Police evacuated the Boca Town Center Mall Saturday afternoon after a threat was made by a caller in the mall’s parking lot.

According to police, the caller advised he had guns and bombs in a car at the north side of the parking lot.

Just before 7:30 p.m., the update from the police department on X read: “Based on the investigation, it appears the threat was made during a swatting call. Nothing suspicious has been found.”

Boca Raton police added the mall remained closed Saturday evening and patrons could retrieve their vehicles from the parking lot.

The city’s bomb team is on scene and Boca Raton Police continue investigating.
