Once considered Palm Beach’s sleepy stepsister to the south, the barrier island community of Manalapan over the last few years has made real estate waves — and headlines —with notable sales and pricier listings.
Take an ocean-to-lake estate at 640 S. Ocean Blvd., which just entered the market, furnished, at $85 million — an eye-popping price that would have been unheard of just a few years ago. The estate also is among the most expensive residential properties ever listed for sale in the wealthy town south of Palm Beach .
The asking price is more than double than what the estate fetched when it sold brand new for a recorded $36.05 million in July 2020 .
But the property is “priced competitively” for today’s market, said listing agent Casey Flannery of Equestrian Sotheby’s International Realty in Wellington.
The Palm Beach Daily news is the first media outlet to report the listing.
The estate comprises about 1.8 acres with 150 feet of oceanfront on one side and about the same amount fronting the Intracoastal Waterway. The bulk of the property is on the ocean and is separated from a parcel on the Intracoastal Waterway with a well-equipped dock.
