ANGARI Foundation is celebrating the most successful year for Coastal Ocean Explorers: Sharks at-sea educational program.

During the 2023-2024 school year, ANGARI hosted 13 expeditions, welcoming 60 teachers, program directors, mentors and parents aboard. The expeditions gave 143 young people hands-on experiences in shark research.

Participants caught, collected valuable data and tagged 29 sharks, which will contribute to shark research and conservation efforts at Florida International University.

“COE: Sharks” is ANGARI Foundation’s flagship education program and run in collaboration with FIU scientists. The program features classroom visits and full-day, at-sea expeditions aboard the Foundation’s 65-foot research vessel, R/V ANGARI.

ANGARI is committed to providing innovative, real-world, hands-on research and educational opportunities for today’s young people. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in West Palm Beach, The Foundation is dedicated to creating a global community interested in, knowledgeable about, and invested in marine and environmental sciences. It directly supports research initiatives to foster greater trust and dialogue between scientists and the public.
