A fatal crash occurred on Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach, Florida, early on October 2, 2024. The driver of Vehicle 1, a 72-year-old man, failed to recognize a lane closure due to road maintenance and struck two traffic cones before steering left. This maneuver caused the vehicle to rotate counterclockwise across westbound lanes, eventually crashing into a tree on the center median. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and investigators from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
