A large animal shelter is bringing some new animals back to West Palm Beach from areas in the potentially direct path of Hurricane Milton.
Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League has transported nearly two dozen dogs and 15 cats from shelters in Clewiston and Venice Beach to get them out of harm’s way.
It’s part of the rescue’s emergency assistance plan in which teams travel across the state in rental vans to pick up animals.
Some of the rescued dogs will be flown to Panama City Beach for safety. Now, they’re trying to make room by urging folks to foster dogs.
