Palm Beach County pizza joint’s new ‘pastrami burnt ends’ pie, here today, gone next week

Featuring Detroit-style pizza with a sourdough crust, the pies at Death by Pizza in Delray Beach have become some of the most sought after in all of South Florida. With regular topping twists on weekly specials, the shop is always cranking up the wow-factor.

Now, a collaboration between the restaurant and Boca Raton-based Beauregard’s Fine Meats & Butchery , promises to strap rockets to that popularity, creating a pizza that might not be meant for mere mortals.

The pastrami burnt ends cheesesteak pizza, Death by Pizza’s ‘Specialty Pie of the Week,’ is available Oct. 24 through Wednesday, Oct. 30 and will feature the burnt ends from the pastrami used in the Beauregard’s wildly popular hot pastrami sandwich.

Bathed in Beauregard’s proprietary brine for seven days, then removed to sit overnight before being hit with the house spice and seasoning rub, the briskets at Beauregard’s are then smoked at, as chef and owner Cameron Falls put it, “225 give or take, for eight to 12 hours.”
