Some Floridians are aware that billionaire-run companies have been moving from other states to Florida for various reasons. I’ve written about billionaire Ken Griffin moving Citadel from Chicago to Florida and billionaire Barry Sternlicht moving Starwood Capital Group from Connecticut to Florida, to name just a few examples. And now billionaire Stephen Ross’ development company Related Ross is teasing more moves as South Florida may become closer to being the “next Silicon Valley.”
About Billionaire Stephen Ross’ Related Ross: In July of 2024, I wrote about the formation of Related Ross, which is billionaire Stephen Ross’ spinoff of Related Southeast – which is active in South Florida. According to the Real Deal, the new venture was a sign of Ross’ continued commitment to Florida development.
Billionaire Ross has a home in Palm Beach County and is part owner of the Miami Dolphins, although he recently sold a limited stake. I’ve written about how he was instrumental in getting a Vanderbilt University campus in Florida.
