WEST PALM BEACH — Amid a new swirl of events on the global stage, hundreds of people gathered Sunday afternoon on Clematis Street to demonstrate with signs, speeches and song that abandoning Ukraine now will not only be a defeat for Ukrainians, but also for global justice.
Monday marks the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and Sunday’s event on the Great Lawn on Clematis Street was the third such South Florida gathering organized by the Florida Association of Ukraine in solidarity with that war-torn part of the world.
And Marta Naumenko, 35, of North Miami Beach is praying she doesn’t have to come out for the fourth annual event. Her mother and brother are still there in the country where she was born, raised and then fled in 2022 when the invasion started…
