WELLINGTON, Fla. (CBS12) — Severe weather moved through the Village of Wellington, leaving behind destruction and a trail of debris.
According to the Village Manager Jim Barnes, the storm brought heavy rainfall, hail and strong, damaging winds with gusts of 52 mph. One of the hardest hit areas was near Lake Worth Road, where the village has received reports of uprooted trees, fallen palm fronds and scattered debris.
Barnes said due to the storm, public work crews responded and cleared the debris from the roads and village facilities.
