LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. (CBS12) — A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy has been fired over inappropriate messages he is accused of sending to 18 year old girls; friends of his son’s girlfriend, according to an internal affairs report obtained by CBS 12 News reporter Al Pefley.
PBSO’s IA unit concluded, former Deputy Sheriff Eric Devaul sent inappropriate text messages to two students from Seminole Ridge Community High School; engaging in flirtatious conversations with the teenagers both on and off duty.
The investigation began on April 11, 2024, when the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the allegations. The detective who led the investigation determined that Devaul did not violate any Florida state statutes.
