Wet weekend: Another round of downpours & storms Sunday

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Sunday will be another active day with downpours and the potential for isolated strong thunderstorms as a cold front has stalled to our north leaving ample moisture over us.

Sunday will start with showers and thunderstorms firing up in the early morning near the west coast, before moving into our area. The first downpours will arrive in Okeechobee County and inland communities near 5-7 AM. These storms will continue to progress east throughout the morning. The main threats are heavy downpours leading to localized flooding, frequent lightning and gusty winds—which may knock over loose or light items outdoors.

These storms will continue through about 1-2 PM with isolated showers possible through the early evening…
