Former student caught after $20k wage scam at Palm Beach State College

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A former student employee at Palm Beach State College (PBSC) is accused of pocketing nearly $21,000 in wages by clocking in for work he never performed.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) said the scheme came to light when PBSC employees from the Payroll, Accounting, Financial Aid, and Human Resources departments noticed discrepancies in the employment records of a former student who worked in the Humanities Department.
