Deerfield Beach is honoring Disability Pride Month with a special free screening of Disney’s Out of My Mind on July 25 at the Johnny L. Tigner Community Center, located at 445 SW 2nd Street. The event coincides with the 35th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), highlighting a major milestone in the movement for disability rights and inclusion, according to Deerfield Beach’s official announcement.
Featuring the story of Melody Brooks, a bright sixth-grader with cerebral palsy, the PG-rated film follows her inspiring journey as she joins a mainstream classroom and proves that her physical challenges don’t limit her intelligence or spirit.
