The City of West Palm Beach will host the return of its Soul in the City Jazz Experience, a monthly evening concert series featuring top musicians from across the country. Soul in the City will be held on the third Wednesday of each month, from July through September, at the Lake Pavilion on South Flagler Drive.
The Allyson Briggs Band will kick off the fun on July 16, from 7 to 9 p.m. Dubbed “The Glamour Girl of Jazz,” Briggs is a sought-after vocalists and bandleader. With hundreds of public concerts and private events per year, she leads her own retro jazz band, Fleur Seule, with effortless fun and fashion to match whichever decade she chooses to recreate.
The Robert Ross Band takes the stage August 20. Ross is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who performs jazz, blues, soul, and rock. He has released seven recordings with The Robert Ross Band and won two New York Music Awards for Best Blues Artist. Since moving to Florida in 2017, Ross has won three Florida Blues Challenges and reached the semifinals twice at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.
