Boynton Beach man sentenced to 20 years for armed carjacking of Lyft driver

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A man was sentenced to 20 years for holding a Lyft driver at gunpoint and forcing him to drive to two banks to steal $1,000.

The Boynton Beach Police Department announced Tuesday that Evanole Lusane received a 20-year sentence in the Florida Department of Corrections after accepting a plea deal for the armed carjacking and kidnapping of the Lyft driver.

On January 11, a Lyft driver picked up two passengers in Lake Worth. Police say one of the passengers exited the vehicle at a stop sign near East Palm Drive and North Seacrest Boulevard in Boynton Beach. The second passenger, who was later identified as Lusane, remained in the vehicle…
