PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Palm Beach County first responder has returned home after spending nearly two months volunteering in Ukraine.
William Shock, an EMT at American Medical Response’s (AMR) Palm Beach County operation, took an approved leave of absence in April to volunteer on the ground in Ukraine alongside another American volunteer.
Despite having no local ties, Shock traveled to Eastern Europe to help those caught in the crossfire. During his time, he distributed meals to displaced families and military personnel in Lviv and Kyiv, working alongside others helping out at the Lviv Volunteer Kitchen…
