West Palm Beach is ramping up its efforts to ensure the city can weather the storm. The city has announced a comprehensive Hurricane Preparedness Exercise set to be held on Wednesday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to noon. Slated to take place at the West Palm Beach Emergency Operations Center, Fire Station 5, located at 700 N. Congress Avenue, the drill is pivotal for testing the city’s response capabilities in the face of natural disasters.
The city’s Annual Preparedness Exercise aims to rigorously test all phases of emergency management, encompassing preparedness, response, and recovery. Directors from various departments, including Police and Fire Departments, Public Utilities and Public Works, Engineering, Building Services, and Code Enforcement, to name a few, will be present to thoroughly test the preparedness of their staff and corresponding units.
