PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (CBS12) — Traffic headaches are on the horizon as the Florida Department of Transportation prepares to shut down a major crossing at Northlake Boulevard and Beeline Highway for up to eight days starting August 1 — but Palm Beach Gardens says it’s ready.
Starting August 1, at 8 p.m., a section of Northlake Boulevard at the Beeline Highway will be shut down for up to eight days while CSX crews replace train tracks, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
The City of Palm Beach Gardens has announced a detailed plan to make sure emergency services and city operations continue without interruption.
The City says its fire department and police stay ready. Emergency crews will still have full access through the closure zone. Fire Station 66 will be fully staffed, with backup vehicles and extra supplies on hand. Additionally, a second rescue team will be available during the day to handle any increased calls.
