PBSO names woman, 58, killed in West Palm shooting; man shot on I-95 believed to be gunman

Liliana Calderon Ramirez’s condominium — single-storied, yellow and topped with a red-tiled roof — bookended a row of nearly identical homes on Glenwood Drive in suburban West Palm Beach.

Beyond the small memorial in front of her home on Aug. 13, there was little evidence of the murder investigators say occurred there two days earlier. Most parking spots in the neighborhood were empty. Ducks slept and squabbled on lawns, and a pink dollhouse sat at the foot of a neighborhood dumpster. No crime scene tape remained.

Yet the 58-year-old Ramirez sustained fatal gunshot wounds here late on Aug. 11, and law-enforcement officers fatally shot the man suspected of killing her in the early hours of Aug. 12 along on Interstate 95 in St. Lucie County after he was accused of pointing a handgun at investigators…
