Florida is known for many things: beautiful beaches, sunny days and lots of traffic. And it also tops one platform’s list of shark attack hotspots.
According to the tide forecasting platform Tideschart, Florida nearly took over the list of the 10 U.S. beaches with the most shark attacks since 1642—all the way until 2024. And three of those beaches are in South Florida.
“The concentration of shark attacks along Florida’s coastline is striking,” Ryan Blundell, the founder of Tideschart, said in the news release. “Many people are unaware that certain beaches pose significantly higher risks than others when it comes to shark activity.”…
