New footage challenges Singh’s English proficiency claims
ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — New body camera footage has emerged in the high-profile case of illegal immigrant truck driver Harjinder Singh, contradicting previous claims that he does not speak English. The video, from a traffic stop in New Mexico a month before the deadly Florida crash, shows Singh complying with a police officer’s instructions and speaking in English.
Singh is currently in custody at the St. Lucie County Jail, accused of making an illegal U-turn in his semi-truck on August 12, an action that resulted in the deaths of three people.
The newly released footage from the July traffic stop shows Singh communicating with an officer after being pulled over for speeding.
He is heard apologizing and asking, “In my first five years, no tickets. Full name, sir?”…
