Palm Beach County Officials Issue Yard Waste Disposal Guidelines to Streamline Collection Services

Palm Beach County residents have gotten a refresher on yard waste disposal courtesy of local officials. On August 19, the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, with the assistance of Commissioner Woodward and Mayor Maria G. Marino, rolled out guidelines to maintain the tidiness and efficiency of local yard debris collection. Citizens are encouraged to adhere to the 6/6/50 rule when preparing yard waste for pickup—branches should be cut into sections no longer than 6 feet, no wider than six inches in diameter, and each piece should weigh no more than 50 pounds, as per the Palm Beach County Government’s website.

The Solid Waste Authority is setting a cap on the debris pile size as well. Households are limited to one pile of yard waste per week, and it should not surpass six cubic yards. This measure is intended to ensure that collection services can proceed without hitches, benefiting the entire community. For those looking additional information on the protocol, they can head over to the Solid Waste Authority’s website…
