A West Palm Beach mother, identified as Kadra West, has been arrested for using her baby’s stroller to conceal and steal nearly $10,000 worth of luxury items from a Boca Raton Saks Fifth Avenue. The 31-year-old was observed on security footage hiding designer goods, which included a $3,950 black dress and purses priced close to $3,000 each. West, after being detained, mentioned that she planned to resell the merchandise online due to recent unemployment, as reported by CBS12.
Boca Raton Police Department apprehended West last week, following the alleged shoplifting incident that occurred last Thursday. During the arrest, police found 12 generic Percocet pills in West’s possession, and she admitted she had no prescription for them. With her eight-month-old child by her side, the mother seemed to turn a shopping expedition into a pilfering foray, adding to her extensive criminal record. West previously faced charges for stealing at another Saks Fifth Avenue and has a history of employment-related thefts, according to TapInto.
In detailing her criminal past, court records reveal West’s extensive history of retail theft. In the days of stealing a Ferragamo bag valued at $2,500 and a previous 27-month sentence for various theft-related charges, including credit card fraud and trafficking in stolen property, she was discovered as a serial thief. West served 10 months of her sentence before her release in August 2023.
