Darrell Hunter Embarks on Role as Delray Beach’s New Police Chief in Inspiring Swearing-In Ceremony

Darrell Hunter was officially sworn in as Delray Beach Police Chief last Friday evening in a ceremony at Atlantic Community High School attended by local residents. Hunter has served in the department since 2007 and became assistant chief in 2021, Real Radio reported. His appointment by the City Commission follows his interim period as chief after Russ Mager left to lead the Longboat Key Police Department.
