Police: Origin of bullet that hit West Palm Beach officer under investigation

In an update from the West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD) on Wednesday afternoon, officials now say it is undetermined who fired the bullet that hit a police officer during a shootout Tuesday morning.

Emmanuel McRae, 22, is facing two counts of attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer with a firearm after an altercation at a home along the 300 block of Baker Drive. Officer Cristian Caraballo was injured when a bullet struck his ballistic vest during the exchange of gunfire.

McRae turned himself in to police Tuesday night.
