Boynton Beach Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Alleged Assault on Father, Suspect Apprehended with Weapon and Stolen Vehicle

A Boynton Beach man is now facing several charges including attempted murder after allegedly assaulting his father and fleeing the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The suspect, identified as Nicholas Gary Casaceli, 44, is accused of attacking his 71-year-old father, Gary Casaceli, leading to severe injuries and broken bones, WPBF reports.

During the altercation, which spilled over into chaos, police state that the younger Casaceli started punching his father in the face and ribs; this information was corroborated by a bloody baseball bat found at the scene and the son reportedly also made off with his father’s pistol and car keys, then drove away in his white Jeep, a witness, in fear after hearing the mention of a “gun,” escaped through a window, and the victim was left bleeding and in grave condition when authorities arrived at the home.

Nicholas Casaceli was later apprehended by police and is charged with attempted first-degree murder, robbery, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a felon, stemming from a previous felony conviction in North Carolina last year.
