As funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is set to run dry come Saturday, Nov. 1, millions of people won’t have their normal access to nutritious foods; however, a couple of meal and grocery delivery services are here to help.
SNAP, also known as food stamps, is a federal program that provides monthly benefits to low-income individuals for healthy foods. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), which runs the SNAP, 42 million Americans rely on the program every month.
Due to the ongoing government shutdown, SNAP currently lacks the normal federal funding it relies on to operate. The USDA said it can’t tap into contingency funds to issue benefits, which are allocated monthly; therefore, recipients won’t receive their normal aid for November…
