LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A 64-year-old woman was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday, causing her to be thrown into the air before landing on the pavement, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
According to PBSO’s crash report, a 2009 Honda Pilot was traveling west on Lucerne Avenue when it came to a stop at the red traffic signal at the intersection of Dixie Highway. Around the same time, Karen Pietrillo was attempting to cross the intersection of Lucerne Avenue and Dixie Highway.
When the traffic signal turned green, Pietrillo entered the crosswalk and began traveling north across the street, PBSO says. That’s when the Honda traveled through the intersection and crashed into Pietrillo, the sheriff’s office says…
