WEST PALM BEACH — Construction of a $36 million project that will include a state-of-the art aquatic center and a premier YMCA community center at Lake Lytal Park is underway.
A ceremonial groundbreaking of the project was held Wednesday, Nov. 12, at Lake Lytal County Park, which is just south of the airport. Parks and Recreation Director Jennifer Cirillo told those in attendance she expects the new facilities to be completed in about 18 months.
A 2,048-square-foot concession building will serve both the Aquatic Center and adjacent YMCA facilities, while a 7,445-square-foot support building will provide restrooms, showers, offices, storage, a birthday room and training space.
