Montreal resident Pierre Beland, a retired media executive, has vacationed in Florida since the 1970s and ended up in Palm Beach in 2002. His first seasonal residence, which he shared with his late wife, Renee, was a townhome on Australian Avenue built by Paul Wittmann of Wittmann Building Corp.
“It was brand new,” Beland recalls. “I had just sold my companies and my wife and I had time ahead of us.
“We always dreamed of owning in Palm Beach, and this townhouse was beautiful, but after two or three years, Paul offered us the possibility to build something from scratch. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”…
