Palm Beach County Launches Affordable Housing Project for Veterans with $6.3M Investment

The city of Palm Beach County has teamed up with Village of Valor LTD to kick off a new project aimed at providing affordable housing to veterans and their families. The development, known as the Village of Valor, was officially inaugurated with a groundbreaking ceremony, marking the start of construction on a community designed to offer not only a roof overhead but also resources and support tailor-made for those who’ve served our nation.

With a substantial investment from the county, totaling $4.3 million of Housing Bond Loan funds and an additional $2 million from the Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds, the Village of Valor is a notable effort to directly tackle the issue of accessible and affordable housing. The development is slated to consist of two mid-rise buildings featuring 54 units, designed to appeal to households earning between 30% and 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI). A statement obtained by Palm Beach County Newsroom highlighted the broad range of amenities that will be available, including a pool and basketball courts.

More than just providing affordable housing, the Village of Valor is designed to be a sustainable living space for the long term.
