New Epstein documents raise questions about Palm Beach plea deal’s leniency

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Newly released documents tied to Jeffrey Epstein are renewing questions about how the late sex offender avoided significant prison time in Palm Beach County.

Epstein was accused by multiple underage girls of sexual abuse in Palm Beach during the mid-2000s. Despite the allegations, he ultimately received a controversial plea deal in 2008, serving just over a year in jail with work release.
