A project to redevelop the former Saks Fifth Avenue big-box space on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach is moving forward, and changes to one longtime popular feature could be in question.
The town’s powerful Architectural Commission on Dec. 19 voted 6-1, with member Elizabeth Connaughton dissenting, to approve the architectural designs for the new facade of the building at 150 Worth Ave., the west half of The Esplanade.
That approval came with a few tweaks, including a requirement that The Esplanade’s owners work with the Garden Club of Palm Beach to possibly shrink the massive Living Wall vertical garden that is on the building’s west-facing side, extend it up to the building’s cornice and create an additional living wall on the southwest side of the building near the entrance to the loading dock…
