West Palm Beach grandmother embraces new motherhood at 70 through kinship adoption

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — At the age of 70, a West Palm Beach aunt, mother and grandmother became a mom again through kinship adoption. When Lenie found out her nephew was at risk of entering the foster care system, she decided to make him part of her Forever Family.

“I used to tell my husband, I’d say, when I retire, I got to go find me a job. I’m just like bored, you know? No boringness now,” laughs Lenie, who adopted her nephew.
