BELLE GLADE, Fla. (CBS12) — After fighting for his life for nearly five months, the second driver involved in a wrong-way crash on Southern Boulevard has died from his injuries.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Jorge Fermin, 57, of West Palm Beach, was pronounced dead on December 31, at 2:18 p.m. following the August 10 collision that initially claimed the life of Lon’Quinten McFadden, 24.
Investigators say McFadden was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of Southern Boulevard when his Chevy Malibu collided head-on with Fermin’s Ford F-150. McFadden died at the scene, while Fermin was rushed to St. Mary’s Medical Center in critical condition, where he remained until his passing…
