Palm Beach County Honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Legacy with Day of Commemoration Set for 2026

The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners officially designated January 19 as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The proclamation, introduced by Commissioner Powell and issued by Palm Beach County, acknowledged Dr. King’s work related to justice and peace.

Established in 1971, the Martin Luther King Jr. Coordinating Committee of Palm Beach County (MLKCC) organizes community activities focused on service, social justice, and diversity. Its programs include the annual MLK Week, which features art exhibits, performances, contests, and religious services inspired by Dr. King’s teachings.
