Riviera Beach’s plans for new police headquarters met with skepticism

Riviera Beach’s plans to build a new $35 million police headquarters almost unraveled during a Jan. 21 meeting when City Council members took up the issue again because of a mistake with how previous meetings on the topic were advertised.

In the end, council members voted unanimously to move forward — for now — with plans to build a new headquarters at 1621 W. Blue Heron Boulevard on the site of the Barracuda Bay Aquatic Center. Council members must vote on the plan a second time at a future meeting before it becomes final.
