RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A man who allegedly dialed 911 and told law enforcement he shot someone in self-defense is facing multiple charges, including murder.
At about 6:14 p.m. on January 10, a ShotSpotter alerted the Riviera Beach Police Department to a shooting near Avenue S. RBPD says around the same time, dispatchers received a call from a man who said, “I just shot someone, they were trying to attack me.”
The police department says when officers arrived at the scene, they detained James J. Burgess, 37, of Riviera Beach. Officers also found the victim, identified as Quamaine Falana, 34, lying in an alley near an apartment. He was later pronounced dead by Riviera Beach Fire Rescue…
